Mudwave — Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 8, 2026.
1. Introduction
Mudwave is a free application published by Digital Dragons Incorporated (referred to in this policy as “Digital Dragons,” “we,” or “us”). It is an accessible client for connecting to MUDs and other text game worlds, with Miriani provided as the prefilled flagship world.
This policy describes what information the application handles, where that information is stored, and where it is sent. The application is designed to collect nothing: Digital Dragons does not receive your data. There is no Digital Dragons account, no sign-in with us, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking in this application. The sections that follow set out, in full, what remains on your device, what leaves it, and where it goes.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
Everything the application keeps, it keeps on your phone or tablet:
2.1 Saved worlds. For each world you save: the world’s name, host address, port, and whether it uses a secure (TLS) connection.
2.2 Game login details. If you choose to save them, your game login details for each world. Passwords are stored in your device’s Keychain — the secure store built into the operating system — protected by your device’s security, including biometrics where you have them enabled. Passwords are never stored in the application’s ordinary files and are never synced anywhere in plain text.
2.3 Settings and profiles. Your settings, including sound and theme choices, accessibility settings, per-character profiles and preferences, and each world’s policy-profile settings.
2.4 Session logs. Your session logs and transcripts, if you keep them. These are stored on your device and are yours to read, share, or delete.
2.5 Companion memory. The optional companion’s memory, as described in Section 4 below.
Deleting the application deletes all of the above, except anything your device’s own backup system has copied under your own backup settings.
3. Information That Leaves Your Device
The application connects your device directly to the game world you choose. That is the only place your information goes.
3.1 The connection. When you connect, your device opens an encrypted (TLS) connection to that world’s server, wherever a world offers one.
3.2 What is sent. Your username, password, and everything you type in the game are sent to that world’s server; that is how the game works. Each world is operated by its own operators, not by Digital Dragons. What those operators keep, and how they handle it, is governed by that world’s own rules and policies — not by this policy and not by us.
3.3 No Digital Dragons server. Digital Dragons operates no server in this path. Nothing about your play — not your credentials, not your game text, not your logs — is sent to Digital Dragons, and we have no means of seeing it.
4. The Companion (Optional)
Mudwave offers an optional companion: an on-device memory aid that you may set up and switch on for a world. It is off unless you set it up and switch it on.
4.1 On-device processing. The companion’s intelligence runs on your device. What it reads — the game text in your own session — is processed on your phone or tablet. It is not sent to Digital Dragons or to any AI service.
4.2 On-device memory. What the companion remembers is stored in memory domains on your device: domains such as orientation, rules, shortcuts and gestures, run numbers, and navigation, in the domains you choose to enable. You can ask what it remembers in any domain, and you can wipe any domain at any time.
4.3 Acknowledgment. Before the companion can be set up, the application presents a plain statement of what the companion is and is not, and requires you to acknowledge it, including that it uses AI. The statement reads: “This companion is a memory aid. It remembers the things you tell it to remember, and it tells you when you ask. It is not a person, and it does not know you. It carries. You decide.”
4.4 When off. If the companion is off, it does nothing and remembers nothing.
5. Soundpacks
Mudwave includes community-made soundpacks for the worlds it supports, bundled with credit to their creators, which you can read on the application’s credits screen. The packs form part of the application download. Playing sounds from a pack sends nothing anywhere.
6. Platform Diagnostics
If you use a beta version through Apple’s TestFlight, or if your device is set to share crash and diagnostic information with app developers, Apple may share crash reports and basic usage diagnostics with us under Apple’s own privacy policy and your device settings. That flow is controlled by Apple and by you, in your device settings — not by this application.
7. Children
Mudwave is a general-audience client for text game worlds. It is not directed at children, and because we collect nothing, we hold no children’s data. Each world’s own age rules and policies apply to play on that world.
8. Your Choices
Because everything is held on your device, your choices are direct: you may edit or remove saved worlds, credentials, settings, logs, and companion memory in the application, or delete the application to remove all of it.
If you email us for support, you provide us with your email address and whatever you include in the message; we use that information only to read and answer it. Please do not send passwords or other sensitive material unless we ask for a specific item and explain why.
9. Changes to This Policy
If a future version of the application changes what data goes where — for example, if any feature ever sends data to Digital Dragons or to a third-party service — this policy will be updated and republished before that version is released, and the application will say so plainly.
